Petra and I have been having a great time at home together. The play area at the mall was a big hit (as the picture shows- she loves that little tunnel!). The sandy play area at the park was fun. Even better though was yesterday's meeting with the American Association for the Advancement of Science's Research Competitiveness Program. Even though I'm on vacation and babysitting, I got called into work for a meeting that was apparently scheduled at the last instant. Petra went with me of course, and was a little trooper! She played pretty quietly while Daddy sold the research program to the site visitors (and did pretty well I think). After the meeting we met Mommy for lunch at the Hammer museum (they have a nice little sandwich stand set up for the summer, run by Clementine. Very tasty sandwiches and salads. Petra got cuted galore of course.
Luckily after that first day (when I exhausted her) Petra has decided it's time to take naps again. Today she not only had her morning nap, but she slept for 1.5 hours late in the afternoon (now we'll see if we can get her to bed at bedtime!).
Last night we went out on the "Night out on Crime" walk with the neighbors. Petra snoozed until the walk began and whistles began blowing. But she was a charmer, and not fussy at all.
Petra-fied has been name-checked on Daddy Types. We're famous! And all because we had the Maxi-Cosi handy, which we bought after we first read about it on Daddy Types. The web is getting a bit circular!
